The property market in Turkey is faring much better than the UK property market in the face of the global economic downturn. Bodrum in particular has gained in popularity with UK investors.
As an emerging property market, prices are much lower than the average within the EU. This means that buying a property in Turkey offers the potential for significant capital gains, as well as owning your dream holiday home. Tourism in Turkey has risen steadily over recent years. The volume of tourists means that rental income on property in Turkey is 5-10%. Rental income is particularly good coastal areas. Visitors are drawn by the number of hours of sunshine and low cost of living. The Aegean coast specifically is very popular with tourists from the UK.
The possibility of EU accession is an interesting factor to consider with respect to property in Turkey. The expectation that EU accession would benefit Turkey’s economy is a reason for optimism. Turkey’s economy has enjoyed sustained growth since the crash of 2001. Furthermore, the government is working to standardise Turkish laws and bring them in line with those of other European countries. This is likely to make living in Turkey easier and more familiar for Brits, which will have a knock on effect on consumer confidence and international property investment. Housing developments are also being built in line with European regulations. It seems that Turkey is at a favourable point in the transition towards becoming a Member State for property investors.
Turkey’s position outside the Eurozone is favourable to prospective property buyers. The current exchange rate between the pound and the euro has made European countries much less affordable for Brits abroad. Such currency considerations obviously don’t only affect the price of the property itself – there are much wider implications. The price of everything from food, transport and entertainment to legal fees is affected
The UK has a reciprocal arrangement with Turkey so the buying process is straightforward. Turkey allows foreigners to purchase property provided Turks can purchase property in the buyer’s country.
So if you are looking for a sound property investment or a simply place to go and forget about the recession – buying a property in Turkey might provide a welcome ray of sunshine in these gloomy times.

Help answer the question about property
How to report property taxes on tax refund when changed property during the year?We sold our house and bought another one in the middle of the year. What property tax amount should i report on my income tax return? The full amount of taxes for the new property or should I report the pro-rated amount I gave the buyer of my old property and the amount paid on the new property minus the pro-rated amount the sellers gave me on my new property?
Hope this makes sense……

A few things you need to know are that Chase may have wrote the loan paperwork but after the loan closed Chase sold the loan to Freddie or Fannie and got paid a commision for generating the loan. The loan was then sold to Wall Street and then resold again to investors as a CDO.
So when you try to "modify" your loan you send it to Chase and it goes into the hands of a person working there drawing a salary and they must figure out who the loan has been sold to repeatedly; if those companies are still in business, who in those companies handles the paperwork, and how to get it to them for them to sign-off on adjusting the loan.
And when your loan is "bundled" with other loans by one company, resold to another company, REbundled again by that company, and resold again as a CDO which are chopped by in different slices it is NOT an easy quick solution for anybody. Your one loan may have been sliced up in over 6 different CDOs and each part of the loan is now having to be "modified" which affects the entire CDO and the investment group or groups that bought each part has to consider how your request affects the return on the entire CDO.
Also the person a the bank who you are dealing with has NO interest in the outcome of your case. They are getting swamped with requests that they simply are untrained for, unqualified to handle, and will not do anything to risk getting fired.
So YOUR personal situation and the fact that your income was cut 5% does NOT concern them. YOU bought the house, YOU signed the loan paperwork, YOU rented it out, and now you want them to cover the loss of equity for YOUR bad investment. Good luck.
No. I am an American Veteran and also a Life Member of the NRA. I have taught both my sons how to be safe and responsible gun owners; tomorrow I am taking them to the range. People who go through the process of buying firearms legally should have nothing to fear, but sadly, as one of your answerer's responded, the Katrina aftermath was a horror for private gun owners…I mean the police in New Orleans acted like the SS of Nazi Germany. If criminals knew more Americans were armed, they may reconsider the burglary, the rape, the theft…etc. I support our Police, but if someone breaks into your home, with the intent to steal, kill and destroy, even if you have Brinks Security System, you are DEAD without a firearm…it would take the cops 15 minutes at least to respond to the call…take a safety class, legally buy a gun, get familiar with the gun and be a responsible and safe gun owner; then pray you never have to use it!!
Please Note: The author of this site hopes that the young generation of Turks will view this page and question the validity of the history they are taught by their state controlled historians.

My son eats pretty healthy as well, but I allow him treats occasionally. He is 18 months old. He is allowed whole milk with meals and water in between but no juice. He has always been a good eater and eats a large variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc. The only thing he isn't doing well with right now is meat. Sometimes he is ok with it, others he is not. I try to choose healthy snacks. I am not as concerned with calories as I am artificial ingredients, flavorings and corn syrup. I try to choose snacks without those things. He is a tall skinny kid so I don't give him reduced fat anything at this time. My pediatrician did not recommend it due to high sodium content in light dairy, etc. So for now he gets regular cheese, milk, yogurt.
Yawn.
I'm against gun control because it doesn't do what its proponents intend it to do. But I've seen this tired old argument way too many times and it is no more convincing or relevant to gun control in America now than the first time I read it.
once…twice….seven times.
Can’t wait to see them play in Seattle on 4/7 at the Showbox SODO!
Fact is crime has increased greatly in the U K since banning guns just as it does everywhere. .
It is interesting to note that in the USA the places with the least gun control have the lowest crime rates. Those with the strictest gun control laws have the highest. (e.g. Washington DC has the highest murder rate and the strictest gun laws)
Just recently in New Hampshire, (motto: live free or die) a criminal who was stopped for reckless driving shot and ran over the police officer who ticketed him. A passing motorist pulled his own gun and shot the criminal dead. End of story.
